Would you like to fundraise for the K9 Hero Portrait Project?
The K9 Hero Portrait Project is an IRS recognized Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization, Public Charity Status 170(b) (1) (A) (vi). This means we are "publicly supported" and rely on donations from the public.
One of the easiest ways to support our project is to hold a community fundraising event or party. The first step in organizing a fundraising event is to have a goal in mind of what you believe you can raise and try to surpass that goal! Create a committee of individuals who can help you bring your community together to have fun, raise money, and raise awareness about our K9 heroes!
Here are some fundraising ideas:
Garage Sale
Bake Sale
Car Wash
Arts and Crafts Sale
A-thons (walk-a-thon, marathon, swim-athon, etc.)
Catalog parties
Auctions
Galas
Raffles (if allowed in your state)
BBQ Party
Spaghetti Dinner
Dance Contest
Lemonade Stand
Block Party & Carnival
Co-workers collecting change
~~the list is endless!
Once you have decided on a fundraising idea, it's important that you contact The K9 Hero Portrait Project BEFORE fundraising begins for permission. Contact Loreen with your fundraising idea at Loreen@k9heroportraitproject.org Once you are given permission to move forward with your fundraiser it's best to enlist the help of volunteers to ease the burden of trying to take on too much responsibility. Fundraising should be fun and but they do require some work and we here at the K9HPP appreciate all our volunteers do for us! We will be able to assist with some planning ideas and information and if appropriate, accept a check presentation for the funds you have raised.
No contribution is too small and you will have the knowledge that you are helping a military or law enforcement handler receive a beautiful tribute to their K9 partner.
